Christian Beliefs

Q1. And God said, Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness;
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over the cattle, and over all the earth,
and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26

Q2. To have direct fellowship with Father God:
The Bible tells us that Adam and Eve heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: Genesis 3:8...onwards.

Q3. Evil was caused by Lucifer, who was a high ranking angel of God who wanted,
because of pride, to take God's glory and authority for himself.
He also corrupted a third of the other angels causing them also to rebel and
in so doing Lucifer and those angels were cast out of heaven by God:
Isaiah 14:12-14

12 How art thou fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How art thou cut down to the ground,
who didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou has said in thine heart,
I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,
in the sides of the north,

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.

Lucifer sought to do his own will, and not God's, whose high ranking servant he was.
Indeed, notice "I will" occurs 5 times.
This wrong thinking, led to disobedience and rebellion.

God does indeed give us free-will, i.e. choice to do good, or to do evil, which is a cruicial choice between spiritual life or spiritual death:
Eternal life after death, with God in heaven, or in Hell without fellowship with God. The latter is a terrible situation to be in:

As Jesus was dying on the cross, He cried out
"My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me." In other words, Jesus asked Father God, why He had left Jesus alone:

God cannot look on sin. Christians believe that the crucified Christ became sin for us i.e. He took all our sins on Himself, in our place, and for the first time in His life was separated from God: Because SIN SEPARATES US GOD!

At that moment, He felt totally alone and in crying out to His Father, He vocalised the spiritual pain this separation caused Him. Jesus had always prayed, keeping in communication and fellowship with His Father.

'When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.' (John 19:30)

So having atoned by His death, for the sins of the world, being the only person good enough to do so because He was without sin, i.e. He was perfect, His mission accomplished, He turned His spirit over to Father God.

'And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.' (Luke 23:46)

Q4. The spirit wars with the flesh. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Q5. Yes! Christ said:
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
(John 11:25)

Q6. Yes God does exist: In the Bible, the book of Revelations tells us He is Alpha and Omega: The beginning and the ending. God is infinite, i.e. He has always existed and is everlasting: God has no limit, He has no end.

It is difficult for us to really understand just what this means: However by studying the Bible, we are able to come to obtain a fuller knowledge and a better understanding of God, as He reveals Himself to us through his Word.

Q7. Yes: God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. *John 3:16

So once we accept Christ as Lord and Saviour of our life, we have the hope of everlasting life.
Yes this acceptance by a Christian gives him or her not a wishy-washy pie in the sky hope, but certain in Jesus Christ: JESUS IS THE ANSWER!

*The golden text or golden verse.

God promises in the Bible:
“If you confess with you mouth,
the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you shall be saved.”

(Romans 10: V9)

We strongly encourage you now to grasp this truth and
to pray the following prayer now with all of your heart:

Lord Jesus,
I believe that you died for me and that
God Almighty raised You from the dead:

Forgive me please for all my sins.
I am sorry and I repent: I choose to change my ways.
Please come into my heart, as Lord and Saviour of my life.

Amen

What you should do now:

1. Get a Bible, if you do not already have one, and begin reading the Gospel of John, on a daily basis.

2. Join your local charismatic Christian church.

3. Develop your personal relationship with God, through regular, daily prayer.
If you just now made the prayer inviting Christ to come into your life, or require help getting a Bible or finding a church,

Q8. And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone;
I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air;
and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them:
and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field;
but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept:
and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man,
made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh:
she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife:
and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Q9. Old Testament - Leviticus 18:22
You may not have sex relations with men, as you do with women:
It is a disgusting thing.
(NIV)

Leviticus 20:13
And if a man has sex relations with a man,
the two of them have done a disgusting thing:
let them be put to death;
their blood will be on them. (NIV)

New Testament - Romans 1:26-31

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him,
but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like
mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts
to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie,
and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts.
Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God,
he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.

29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity.
They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,

30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;

31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death,
they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

The law in the Old Testament showed people what 'wrong-doing' or sin was,
rather like a teacher would point out to students what the rules were,
as well as the penalties for breaking them.

But with the New Testament,
i.e. the coming to earth of Jesus Christ, a different way of dealing with sinners and sin is shown:

We are to repent, i.e. be sorry to God for our sins and sin no more.

Also we should not condemn others for we have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory i.e. perfection.

God loves the sinner, but hates the sin!

John 8:1-12
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him;
and he sat down, and taught them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery;
and when they had set her in the midst,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him.
But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them,
He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience,
went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last:
and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her,
Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11 She said, No man, Lord.
And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.

TRUTH & FALSEHOODS :

FALSE: Money is the root of all evil.

TRUTH:
The love of money is the root of all evil:
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after,
they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many
sorrows.

FALSE: Eve gave Adam an apple to eat which was the fobidden fruit.

TRUTH:
Genesis 3.2: And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

Genesis 3.3: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,
God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it,
lest ye die.

Genesis 3.6: And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes,
and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof,
and did eat,
and gave also unto her husband with her;
and he did eat.

FALSE: God helps those who help themselves.

TRUTH:
2 Corinthians 12.9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Paul tells us what God said to him when he asked God to take away something,
"a thorn in his side", which troubled him, making him weak or unable to function properly:
Possibly it was an eyesight problem as historians think he used a scribe,
someone to write down his words like a secretary, because of poor or failing eyesight.

God tells him that He will not take the problem away, because His grace is enough to keep him from failing,
and that when he is weak, then God's strength is manifested, in him.

FALSE: Some people think that:
Hell is where people can do anything they fancy:
Drink alcohol, gorge on food, dance to popular party music
and behave in any way they choose and have a wild, enjoyment-filled time for ever.

They also think that:
The Devil, or Old Nick, the latter apparently being a term of endearment applied to Satan - as
one might apply to a friend - is the host of this wild party.

Some people consequently:
Do not fear Hell, seemingly hoping to go there when they die,
rather than in Heaven with God, which they think would be restrictive.

Some people however:
Do believe that Hell, can be found on earth or is actually life on earth,
before we die after which people go to a better place.
Alternatively they believe there is nothing after death and that life on earth is all there is!

TRUTH: Hell was made for Satan and his cohorts,
i.e. his helpers in crimes against God.
There he will not be in charge, but be punished, along with his helpers!
This is told of in the last book of the Bible:
Read, know and remember that only Jesus can save us from hell.

Revelation Chapter 20 - Particularly Verse 10

20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up,
and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more,
till the thousand years should be fulfilled:
and after that he must be loosed a little season.
20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them:
and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection.
20:6 Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power,
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.
20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away;
and there was found no place for them.
20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened:
and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:
and they were judged every man according to their works.
20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

We wish all our vsitors blessings in
the precious name of Jesus.

Yours in His Service,

Amen
