Hey: Who said life would be easy?

Life at the best of times is not easy.
As the cost of daily living rises around the world, try not to despair.
Although many people may have a materially better life than us,
many people are in the same or worse situation:

There are people all over the world whose daily life centres on obtaining water clean or dirty,
growing or finding food for their family, finding shelter, who may have little or
no income or way of earning one,
and no access to formal education:

Furthermore, never having had a lifestyle as comfortable as you or I,
To them recession means nothing,
as they live perpetually in need,
lacking as they do the basic essentials of shelter,
food and clothing which many of us take for granted.

They may also be war casualties with physical and/or mental injuries,
refugees who have escaped their war-torn village, town or country.

Jesus' Mission
Foretold In The Old Testament Isaiah 61:1-2

1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me;
because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek;
he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all that mourn;
Jesus' Mission
Stated by Him in the New Testament

Luke 4:18-19

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives,
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
The BIBLE - God's Words to us:

Book of Instructions Before Leaving Earth

The Bible is God inspired, which the various authors of each of its books were led by God to write: Although written in each author's own style, they wrote God's truth. Consequently it is never misleading and is sufficient enough in its contents to inform us of all we need to know.

The Bible is authoritative in that it reveals to humanity God's will, defines our beliefs according to God's word and therefore also how we are to behave.

In effect, it sets the level at which we are to live, and ultimately everyone of us will have to account to God just how we lived in the light of His instructions.

It is important to know and remember that its precepts and commandments are consistent: They never change and are CANNOT TO BE CHANGED BY ANYONE WITHOUT PENALTY. Therein is its infallibilty:
"The word of God stands for ever".

To maintain a healthy spiritual and mental life, i.e. right thinking, we should read the Bible, God's Love Letter to Humanity daily and regularly.
God's word in the Bible tells us that we should not worry,
or in other words not be anxious for anything,
but put our concerns to Him in prayer frequently.
Then He will give us His peace in our hearts and minds.
Now read the following words from the Bible:

Philippians 4: 6-7

6 Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests
be made known unto God.

---------------------------------------------

7 And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.
Beware the Media & Information Highways!

In this age of satellite technology, news and information travels around the world extremely fast:
Through the "information highway" of the Internet, newspaper, radio and television medias, daily we hear and/or see reports about crime, deaths, diseases, immoral behaviour, natural disasters, tragedies and wars.

Very little good news is reported and in the main we are constantly updated with what we appear to relish: Bad news!

Frequently we see these events, live as they are happening, leaving us filled with negative images imprinted on our minds,
fear in our hearts and without any sense of, or a trace of hope:

However, we have only to read God's words in the Bible to find encouragement,
hope and truths essential to uplift our mind, heart and spirit:

By putting God's all-encompassing information into action, we are enabled to live life the way God intended:
Only in this way, can we be overcomers of life's trials and tribulations, i.e problems.
God always prepares His people:

The enemy and camps revealed and
the vital combat armour and tactics we must utilise in the Good Fight!

Ephesians 6:10-18 - PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD TO WITHSTAND THE POWERS OF DARKNESS

In Ephesians 6:10-18, the status quo for God's people, as soldiers-in-Christ,
the enemy, their control centres, and defense and combat tactics we must use against the enemy is described:

Make no mistake: This is the status quo today. Christians are actively engaged in, OR SHOULD BE, fighting the good fight:

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Note in verse 18, the exhortation i.e. strong encouragement, to "pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit" and at the same time continually watching out and doing the same for all saints, i.e. for all other living Christians:

THIS IS NOT A PHYSICAL BATTLE, BUT A SPIRITUAL BATTLE AGAINST SPIRITUAL EVIL.
Beware a self-centred, faddish and materialistic world-culture!

In this self-centred, self-serving, money and sex orientated world of uncertainty,
the ever changing peaks & troughs of life,
manmade inconsistencies and
change for fashion's sake,
it is liberating to know God the Creator's truth,
and assuring to know and have faith in the the following:

*The Word of God stands forever.

+Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
-------------------------------------------------------
As the Arab conflicts wage on:
Be concerned, be dismayed,
but know these are some of the
signs of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Bible prophecy will be fulfilled:
What God says He will do, He will do!
What He says will happen, will happen!

ARE YOU READY FOR HIS SECOND COMING?

HE IS NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH:
NOT SURE WHAT YOU MUST DO TO BE READY?

THEN READ ON ... ... ...
God Has Provided Us A Way Out - Back to Him,
Through His Only Begotten Son - Jesus Christ,
Our Saviour and Only Hope
For We Cannot Save Ourselves!

Jesus was prepared from before the foundation of the the world to come to earth,
even if it was just for you, or just for me!
He was prepared to lay down His life for one person or many:
That is how precious we are in God's sight:

He left His royal place in heaven and came to earth in human form just for us, as instructed by his Father to whom He was totally obedient:

He was the only one good enough to atone for our sin:
Perfect, without sin and completely obedient to His Father God, even unto death, He lay down His life and was crucified on the Cross.

He became like us, so we could be more like Him and able to return to Father God after our life on earth ends.

After which, on the third day, He rose again from the dead, to ascend into heaven, having conquered sin and death for us. Even by the wounds He received when crucified, there is healing for us. Such is the completeness of the work of the Cross in the suffering and pain Christ endured for us.

So you see we are really not our own. Our lives have been purchased by Jesus on the Cross, through the shedding of His precious blood, to save us from the consequences of sin:
And so through the only sinless man, Jesus, sin and death has been conquered:

That is the GOOD NEWS!

We should renew our minds by reading about the birth of Christ in the Bible in the New Testament which fulfills the prophecy and promise of the Saviour's birth given in the Old Testament of the Bible,
and particularly in Isaiah:

We should also know that Jesus has promised to come again and that our lives are a preparation for meeting Him. However He may come again in our life time, i.e. before we have physically passed away! Wow!
Are you ready? Start now, today: The time is short, but it is not too late!

When is He coming? Only the Father knows the date and time!
Jesus has told us to occupy until He comes: We should be getting ready, preparing ourselves, through a personal relationship and fellowship with God, and encouraging others to follow Christ by spreading the Word of God and being a living example by the way we conduct our lives.

Christ is coming again soon:
Perhaps before the next Christmas, perhaps today or tonight! Are you ready?
The signs, according to what Jesus told His disciples in the Bible, are not just singularly evident these days, but all of the signs are. They show that we are indeed in the last days, the End Times:
Christians are expecting Jesus' coming again soon!

Then what are we to do; live in fear, panic, worry? No not at all:

Just get ready now, not next week, next month, as this year progresses: Take time, on a daily basis, and it is God's time after all, to reflect on the past day, week or month and how it can be improved in a more Godly way of living, in readiness for Jesus' second coming!

It really is not too late if you start right now!

Solomon, a King of the Israelites, prayed to God:

He asked Him for wisdom. He did not ask for wealth as others might: God's response was that He blessed him not only with wisdom, for which even today he is still known as the wisest man ever, but blessed him with wealth also!
His legendary wealth has been the basis of many films with titles such as "Solomon's Mines" or "Lost Mines":

Archaeologists and treasure hunters continue to research and find these tangible treasures: However, it is important to note that Solomon's wisdom is readily found in the Bible in the Book of Solomon and Ecclesiastes.

Whilst focus has been on his wealth, more important is the great wisdom he had and his wise application of it:

King Solomon became, and remains unsurpassed today, the wisest and the richest man ever to live: Consequently, kings, queens and heads of states of far away countries came to see him after hearing of his wisdom and wealth, bringing him magnificent gifts also.

Unfortunately disobedient and ungodly behaviour involving lust and idolatry, i.e. sexual immorality and the permitting of the building up of high places to facilitate the worship of false gods by some of his numerous wives, led to downfall.

In preacher/teacher-mode in Ecclesiastes, Solomon reflected on this fame, wealth and subsequent downfall, and after repenting, i.e. admitting his guilt and saying sorry and changing his ways, he turned back to God who forgave him.

Luke 11:1 - 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 And it came to pass, that,
as he was praying in a certain place,
when he ceased,
one of his disciples said unto him,
Lord, teach us to pray,
as John also taught his disciples.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 And he said unto them,
When ye pray, say,
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
as in heaven,
so in earth.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4 And forgive us our sins;
for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.

We can pray the Lord's Prayer as it is, i.e. especially if we are experiencing difficulty finding words or concentrating whilst praying:

THE LORD'S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth,
As it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil,
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
For ever and ever

Amen

We can also use this as a example of how to pray:

  • PRAISE GOD,
  • AGREE WITH HIS WILL TO BE DONE ON EARTH,
    JUST AS IT IS CARRIED OUT IN HEAVEN,
  • ASK FOR OUR NEEDS
  • ASK FOR FORGIVENESS ACCORDING TO HOW WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO HURT US,
  • ASK GOD TO KEEP US AWAY FROM TEMPTATION AND TO PROTECT US FROM EVIL
  • ACKNOWLEDGE TO GOD HIS OWNERSHIP OF EVERYTHING, HIS POWER AND ENTITLEMENT TO ALL THE GLORY
  • ACKNOWLEDGE THAT GOD LIVES ETERNALLY WITHOUT ENDING
  • AFFIRM THAT YOU WISH IT SO LET IT BE I.E. AMEN!
  • TRUE FREEDOM ONLY FOUND IN CHRIST: John 8:31-36

    31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.
    32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

    33 They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"

    34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
    35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.
    36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
    (New International Version)
    INFINITY - A Beginning        Your Life on Earth       An Ending - INFINITY
    How are you living life?
    Do you worship a false god/gods or idols?
    Do you believe in nothingness?
    Do you live only for yourself.
    Do you live without thought of or
    Ignore the consequences of your daily actions?
    Do you know there is hope?
    Do you want to be truly free?

    John 8:36
    So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed:
